Please forgive me that I didn’t post for a long time. I just… was too lazy? Will post more.
However, not now. I am going for a holiday to Bieszczady mountains in Poland, buetyful place… So, will be back in a week or so and than will post some more, I promise…
Well, I don’t write much posts lately. The reason is very simple: 50 Celcius degrees in the sun. The summer attacked Poland with enormous power and it’s hard to concentrate on anything lately… Read the rest of this entry »
Just a quick note to let you know that Poland was crashed by Brasil in the FIVB World League. 3:1. Now, we will play against the USA for the 3rd place, this is gonna be a nice match I believe…
I made it a quick note, becouse I guess volleyball is not interesting for those of you who… are not interested in it…
So, recent event and extremely optimistic post this time. Our national volleyball team plays in World League organized by FIVB and hosted in Poland as well. Heh, the matches are played like 50 km. from my home now… Anyway our team have played few great matches recently - won all of them. The last one, yesterday, with the USA. Yeah, another seemingly not interesting topic, being a nail in the ass of every Polish driver. The Polish roads. So let’s get straight to the point. As you may expect - Polish roads are in very poor condition. You might have expected this cause otherwise I wouldn’t write about them, it would be obvious, that they’re good enough. But they are not. As was requested here is a post on what do Poles think about the United States.
I called it the first part as it’s a wide topic so now I will try to show only the generall view of Polish people. Read the rest of this entry »
Two most popular drinks in Poland are: beer (as everywhere else I believe) and… vodka!
But what exactly vodka is and why we drink it? Read the rest of this entry »
Ok. Some people told me that it’d be better to state from what exactly country I am writing. And I am going to do that and also write few words about it. But before I’ll do this, let me say why I haven’t done it so far. Read the rest of this entry »
… how the internet connections look in my country. The topic may seem uninteresting but in fact, it keeps bothering me as I love playing on-line games and good connection for this is essential.
Firstly, the internet is expensive. Really. The most popular ADSL connection of our country’s phone service cost about 26$ monthly for a 128 Kb/s connection, 28,30$ for 256 Kb/s, at least 35$ per month of 512 Kb/s. There are faster ones, but not many people are interested in them. Of course,
there are other internet providers, if you sign a deal on 36 months, you can get and 512 ADSL connection for 18$!
…and that’s it. You won’t get anything for much lower money. I, personally pay 9,8$ a month for a wireless LAN internet, but it’s not 100% legal, so I won’t talk about it.
I don’t know how much does an internet connection cost in other countries, but I heard that it’s less expensive…
Moreover, the internet providers often fail to provide the speed they are to provide. I mean, with 512 connection you may find yourself using something like 300 Kb/s. And there is not much you can do about it, as they always say that this is not their fault or that they will fix it soon.
However, I have enough speed to upload this blog, so I shouldn’t whine that much.
I will write something more about living in my country soon. Leave me a comment on the topic you would like, if such topic exists…
You’ve probably noticed that I didn’t say what the country is. That’s true, I know about it. There are some reasons that I will explain another day.
